The root being ourselves, because essentially as creators our business is an extension of ourselves. Only when we take the time to nurture the self into its full potential power, can our business really blossom. Therefore, we have been taking this recent time to turn within and practice self care and self love on a daily basis.

As a result, we can grow our business to be stronger and in full integrity to who we are and what we offer. Even if you are not an entrepreneur, we believe it is important for everyone to take time for themselves, and essentially step into their highest self or ultimate power.

The truth is, we all have people who need us out there. Everyone's mission is really just to help someone else fulfill theirs in one way or another. For instance, we help event planners completely break the mold of what's expected, through performances that instill a true sense of wonder and magick in their guests.

  Who do you help?

In this line of business we literally sell ourselves, and if we are not our best selves, if we are not in the highest integrity at all times, we cannot sell confidently and effectively. When we shifted to this perspective of selling ourselves in the name of helping others, we were suddenly free from guilt and marketing became easier.

Ultimately, to show yourself love and care on the regular, you will find that you are able to be more present and available to those who you serve. You'll find peace and happiness in your everyday life, because you will be living true to you.

Chase happiness, because you deserve it. This DVD guides you on a simple and powerful meditation for clarity, health, and joy. It is called, “Isha Kriya.” If practiced on a daily basis for only about 15 minutes, you will start to notice a shift in consciousness, an awakening of sorts. By creating a distinct separation between the body, the mind, and the true self, spirit, essence, being, whatever you like to call it, you can then have more control over your life and essentially come into your power. We identify with it and therefore truly believe it is the self. In reality, it is just a false mind made self. It lives only in the past and the future, never the now. There is a true power to being able to turn off your mind, your thinker, and simply be. That is precisely what this book helps you do. When paired with this meditation practice, it is truly magickal. Not to be able to stop thinking is a dreadful affliction, but we don’t realize this because almost everyone is suffering from it, so it is considered normal. It also creates a false mind-made self that casts a shadow of fear and suffering.”

“The moment you start watching the thinker, a higher level of consciousness becomes activated. You then begin to realize that there is a vast realm of intelligence beyond thought, that thought is only a tiny aspect of that intelligence. You begin to awaken.”

“Have you ever experienced, done, thought, or felt anything outside the Now? Do you think you ever will? There are many levels of self investment. You can think of adopting these said practices as an investment in yourself, they are in investment of your time and energy. You can also invest in yourself through material means. In our case, we did this by ordering new high quality costumes, and the newest props to perform with. This is part of staying in integrity with yourself. If we leveled up our skills but never got new costumes or props to match our level, it would be out of balance. Essentially, yes. You do need to spend money to make money, and that’s okay. Just spend wisely.

Another way to invest in yourself and your business is to find support, valuable support through a coaching program, or personal mentor. Then suddenly you find yourself here like; oh shit that flew by, once again, and you actually kind of welcome that sweet decompression time…but in those first days of spring, we are pumped to do anything and everything, and travel anywhere to reconnect with community. Feeling starved of joyous jam sessions and skill shares. Coming from the middle of nowhere (literally) in northern NY, it’s hard to get that fix, especially through the winter. That longing itself led us on all of our adventures….

We visited multiple retreats around the north east beginning with Wombat (winter object manipulation bootcamp at Tufts) in Boston. This three day event featured lots of awesome workshops and a nice big burn field at night. Even though it was still a bit chilly, we heat up the nights with some huge fire balls! This retreat also wins the smallest stage title for the performance showcase, and we still have no idea how we actually pulled off our act! We were lucky enough to get to share sleepy space with the amazing Liz Knights and Dave Statik. Not only was it sweet for them to welcome us in their home, but we also got to share it with a beautiful soul Cael, and awesome Aussies Tim Goddard and Lou Myers! What better a weekend for all of these shenanigans than April 20th.

<span ar-sa;'="" en-us;="" roman";="" "times="" 12pt;="" roman","serif";="">Onward we travelled to Vassar College in New York for the Monkey See Monkey Do juggling convention. (notice the trend of animal names, us flow artists are fond of our fellow animal spirits ;) Not only did this retreat spark a new determination within us to learn juggling, but we forged some real relationships here, and performed alongside some absolutely incredible talent in the showcase. Justin, Christina, and the rest of the Monkeys proved to be great hosts. Staying with them was a highlight of the spring, hanging out with all of the talented and silly circus folk was a genuine good time… especially that night we were all entertained for 2 hours straight by Jonathan Alvarez, four illuminated pod poi, no music, but plenty of sound effects!

Our next stop was WildFire Retreat in CT. This one holds a special place in our heart since it was what really sparked our interest in the fire arts and helped us pursue our dream of becoming professional fire dancers. We always try to go at least once or twice a year. This round was great! We performed a kick-ass Maleficent and Dragon routine, set up the Fire Magick Emporium booth, debuted our new mini hoops tech class, and had a lot of fun just hanging with our fellow freaks.

Only two days after WildFire we flew with all of our gear over snow capped mountains, and desert to reach California for Fire Drums! We were so kindly scooped up from the airport by Aileen Lawlor and Brecken Rivera and dropped off in the heart of San Francisco to enjoy our first day there. That city felt in perfect balance and the things we discovered there were awesome! From the fully decorated artistic alleyways, to the playgrounds, unique shops, and the best burritos we’ve ever had in our lives, we loved exploring. Then we got to gratefully spend time at the Vulcan. This place was extremely cool; full of artists of all kinds living in huge lofts, interconnected by intriguing hallways and garden courtyards. Visiting the many flow art lofts where DJ’s play and people practice all day was inspiring! The hospitality we were shown here from Noel Yee, and many others was very appreciated. The Vulcan is just one of those places you must check out as a dedicated flow artist, so much valuable creation and inspiration floods out of these walls constantly…it was nice to dwell within them.

Soon enough it was time to road trip up the coast of Cali to the secluded Redwood forest with Breken and Tiana Zoumer. We took our time, winding through beautiful country side, filled with anticipation as we felt ourselves getting closer to this place of true magick. Seriously though, the most magickal retreat we have been to, hands down. This experience is a must for any aspiring flow artist. The environment itself simply brought us to another state of being. Nestled in the depths of the forest made of the largest trees we have ever seen, with zero phone reception or connection to anything outside of our passion and those who share it. Everything about this place just felt “heady as fuck.”…we must have uttered those exact words at least 20 times throughout the weekend. From the food to the music, to the classes, to the vendors, to the performance showcase, to the burn field, ohh the glorious burn field!!...Around every corner and in every person was a sense of pure magick. Being able to teach and perform there was amazing and we felt deep gratitude. The best part was the burn field, it was incredible! Imagine 50 + fire dancers in one space artfully weaving a huge variety of props around each other, sharing space with such precision, balance, and beauty. All the dancers guided by enlightening music that played past dawn, and drums beat upon with mallets of fire. This was the most tribal and primal experience we have had so far. The people here were truly burning for no one but themselves, for nothing but the energy of it all, for nothing but the pure joy it evokes, and it made us fall in love with fire all over again.<span ar-sa;'="" en-us;="" roman";="" "times="" 12pt;="" roman","serif";="">

Niagara Falls: Flow with Power...

<span ar-sa;'="" en-us;="" roman";="" "times="" 12pt;="" roman","serif";="">When we returned from California it was time to switch gears into work mode. This summer we worked every weekend at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, NY. We put on fire and LED shows all weekend upon this landscaped concrete bridge leading to the biggest casino on the US side. We worked alongside great people including Joe the Cyr Wheel man, and gained some loyal fans of all ages! It was awesome to be able to visit one of the most magnificent waterfalls in the world every single weekend this summer, and even one smaller but special eternal flame waterfall. We had enough time there to actually explore and find the little nooks and vantage points to really appreciate the falls on another level. If you ever visit, be sure to go down to the Cave of the Winds and stand right in the power of this incredible wonder of Nature. Although there seems to be more attractions on the Canadian side, we realized that the US side really displays the most natural beauty and opportunities to get closer to the falls themselves. From our hotel, Canada was just a 20 minute walk. We went over a few times after midnight to check it out and found it to be like a twisted after hours Disney Land. There was a weird mix of sugar buzzed children and wasted 19 year olds running around the highly decorated and flashy streets. Haunted houses, mini golf, wax museums, all the things lined the streets, and of course over priced shitty food. There we reunited with many friends and made new ones. It was a great weekend of community, flow, learning, and burning. Some of the highlights of this weekend were the effigy burn and the powerful performance by Claire De Luxe and her troupe “Enchanted” complete with thunder and lightning, perfectly timed throughout the show! They literally summoned a huge storm that cancelled the remainder of the show including our performance. We didn’t even mind, because witnessing that magickal show was such a great experience itself… The effigy burn involved all of the fire dancers burning around this wooden lotus flower sculpture that was lit as our flames died out. It was rigged with all sorts of fireworks that set off in a consecutive order when lit. It burnt beautifully and opened up as if it were blooming at a precise moment in the burn. This was another very primal moment of the summer. After the spectacle was through and there was nothing but a giant bonfire left, all the people marched and danced around it in pure joy. This joy is what runs through the veins of the fire and flow arts community, it is evident at all of these gatherings and it is powerful! Live Free Fest is the collaborative event that Isis hosts with her husband Jason on their land. This was the 6th year and it really felt like it came together in a balanced and beautiful way. This event is unique in its merging of two communities who both create with fire; fire dancers and glass blowers. Put them together, with great music and atmosphere and magick happens. This year attracted the most flow artists and glassblowers yet, and we put on our first full stage show featuring the flow arts. We were lucky enough to have such talent as Lux Luminous, Kevin Gao, Circus Dynamics, Ravenbanes FireCraft, and many more amazing performers. Live Free Fest is a time for Isis and Jason to merge their passions and communities to create a really special event that has incredible vibes of freedom and inspiration. They have been growing the venue for years and often dream about the various possibilities for more retreats there in the future. Nestled within 50,000 acres of forest upon the Tug Hill Plateau, the 46 acre piece of land is really gorgeous and has so much potential! Performing fire upon a makeshift hay wagon stage in broad daylight was not quite ideal, but we rocked it and sent out the badass energy that these people crave. We were not used to dancing to rock music and had no control over what was played, it was yet another test of our adaptability. This was also our first gig with our friend Vita Puma, playing the character of Grinder Girl! We did get to do one set in the dark so she could spray sparks all over the crowd as Jesse James played the chainsaw like an instrument. This was definitely a memorable gig. We had an awesome time, and our classes went very well. The best part of this event for us (besides the plentiful and yummy meals) was the performance we debuted. The theme for this showcase was superheros, so we decided to do a hip hop style superhero routine involving highly technical partner fire fan work. We created this whole routine and practiced it in only a few sessions within a two week period. It was seriously miraculous that we pulled it off. Traveling through the veil was quite the journey. The guardians of the realm were understanding of all the mystical weapons and combustible dragons piss and Unicorn blood we had in the back seat. The theme of this show was *The Children of Pele* We got our island tribal magick on! The night flowed like the volcano in which Pele resides. Tribal drums played, summoning forth our primal spirit, powering our dance to reach new levels! After our show, we headed into the local club in a village called Kingston. We danced and grooved the night away upon platforms alongside the DJ that seemed to be made for us. To celebrate the night we had a delectable entrée the locals call *poutine* It tastes a lot like ogre, but we weren't sure if they were native to this land. The shop keep would not confirm our suspection...
*Our next travels landed us in a mystical place called Saratoga Springs. This was one of our most challenging shows yet. We performed to NO music. Only the spoken spells (poetry) woven by the artist Brian Dorn. This was indoors, they put an anti-fire ward enchantment on the place, so we had to use our light fairy magick props that have a bright luminescent glow. Our bodies were taken over by the words spoken by this wizard, bringing flow arts to a new artistic level. Second, it was the autumnal equinox. Third, our sets were summoning Egyptian gods and goddesses! Iso summoned FloFox as the god of chaos. Next, FloFox summoned Iso as Isis- Mother Goddess. Power surged through us, as the club cheered, the fire roared, and the bass dropped! It was quite the performance. After the Club closed we had to hurry to bed (after nom noms of coarse) around 5am we finally get to sleep. We have to then wake up at 9am to hurry and drive an hour to do the Cream Cheese Festival at 11am. This is a big festival for the local tri county area. Lowville made the worlds LARGEST cheesecake, breaking the world record!!! Even the Cake Boss himself was there to witness it! We did DAY fire and then roamed about with our hoops….in the rain. after this show we had to scurry back to the casino, getting there around 5 o'clock. We went to relax in the hot tub and sauna to unwind from shows and get ready for another that night. Around 6:30 we went to take a quick nap and then had to be up at 730 to run to the dressing room and get gold flaked and prepped for the big show that night. Same show as the night before, but we tweaked it to keep it fresh. Another great night, lots of laughs, lots of dancing, and full of Magick. The transition of going from sexy club performer, to kid friendly goofy performer was quite amusing. It helps us to see how diverse and adaptable we really are.
* All of your dreams can come into fruition if you believe in them. Show gratitude for what you do have everyday. The name alone was an attraction to the Fox, and it was quite nostalgic for myself having visited there as a child. Swindling down streets with hoops in hand, breathing the thick salty air, we stumbled upon some treasures. The first stop was an old garage sale, where we happened to find a handmade hoop (of course we didn't need such a thing, for we had 30 of them in the truck...but its always good to see them around)...next stop, Mystical toys!...which turned out to not be what we had hoped, but none the less fun thanks to the discovery of some super awesome puppets! My favorite was the ostrich....She was mighty good at hooping (check out the video to see for yourself). Further more, we followed our path to an old antique and consignment shop where Fox scored a fabulous yellow vintage shirt. It came from London during the 70's and is embroidered with what Fox likes to call "Hypogryphs". (I think they are long-neck cats) The shop keeper there was very knowledgeable but seemingly always anxious about things breaking in her shop and saw us as huge potential breakers of things....since we were carrying hoops. Little did she know our impeccable spacial awareness levels ;-)...Despite her obvious worry, she was very kind..........................>

Thanks for checking out our blog! We hope you have a magickal day!
Love * Iso

Fox breathing fire in New Haven

LB and Joe

College gigs rule!!...

The following day held quality family time for myself since CT is my home state after all, while Fox enjoyed some quality play time with LB and Joe...Later that night it was time for our first college gig. We weren't sure what to expect but quickly remembered just what college is all about, and realized it was all a big party! To gain an audience we lit large torches and frolicked through campus yelling about the exciting fire show we would put on, with a few added howls and yips...our freaky characters emerged as we moved swiftly through the night, gathering a trail of eager followers. We felt very in character and magickal through the whole show, beginning with an intriguing introduction, we were able to keep the audeince enthralled for the entire 45 minutes! By suggestion of Elizabeth Knights (fellow magick maker and fire bender) when we needed a break, we involved the students in a sexy hooping contest...3 guys and 3 girls showed off their skills with hoops to the silly song "Im Sexy and I Know it"...needless to say it was hilarious and everyone was pumped! Some of them were actually pretty incredible! At the end with a vote from the audience we chose a winner from each side and let them take home their very own handmade dance hoop...hopefully they were inspired and the joy of hooping and the flow arts could potentially impact their lives, or even lead to a school club!...The show continued smoothly, and everyone was amazed as we wallowed in the cloud of satisfaction. Afterwards, we jammed out and reached multiple peak flow moments with our LED props in their black light party...We loved to be able to add some spark to the environment simply by having fun and doing our thing. Every aspect of this gig was enjoyable, from the audience to the performance area, to the after show jam session, to the friendly help we had from coordinator Jeanette Williams!..One thing was very clear by the end of the night, we want to and will perform at many more colleges!!!

Fun with puppets!

All hail facebook!...art in a local gallery.

...Since he found something so magickal I was now on the quest! A tiny jewelry store caught my attention down a side street, in which we found many interesting items. I ended up with a very beautiful authentic jingle skirt from Afghanistan. I've never heard such a lovely jingle on a skirt, or a more solid construction, love it!..Unfortunately we had to pass on the amazing coined helmet, that store was a treasure chest! The lady helping us there was also a character, who was just filling in for the real character who owns the store... We then ended up at a wonderful gallery just as they brought out the cheese and yummy snacks, we were hungry and free food appeared...must be magick! There was also a bit of wine involved, some amazing artwork, and of course another offbeat shop keeper (gallery tender?)...whom we discovered had likely been drinking that wine all day. All of these people were so interested in us, and they were all a little wacky. Whats that say about us? lol...The rest of the day held more art gazing, more delicious food, a valuable marketing book find, and finally a good solid rest at my Mom's house where we learned that our belief in Mermaids was actually legitimate (documentary lounge session). Luckily our truck held out for us just well enough to get us to every destined destination we encountered that weekend and delivered us to the home land perfectly. Cant wait for our next adventure...!

Magickal Moon Cycle

https://www.firemagick.org/blog/magickal-moon-cycle

https://www.firemagick.org/blog/magickal-moon-cycle#comments

adventures

arts

cosm

entertainment

fire

firedancers

magick

performance

This moon cycle, especially around the time when it reached its fullest, many a magickal events occurred and opportunities arose!
